Help for carers

We know how hard it can be to suddenly find yourself as a full time carer for a loved one.

Not only are you dealing with the emotional stress of having to see your loved one so poorly and unable to look after themselves, there are physical pressures as you have to move them about while worried about causing them pain on top of any financial pressures you may face if you’ve had to quickly give up work.

We want to help ease some of that pressure, and that’s why we’ve teamed up with Blackpool Carers Centre to offer a free course to anyone who is a carer and needs help knowing how to go about those day to day tasks which are suddenly new to them.

We can help you in many areas of caring, from changing the bed and your loved ones clothes to knowing what to expect as an illness progresses, planning for the future and supporting you as your loved one nears the end of their life.

Our CARE (Carers and Relatives Experience) Group has been especially created by our nursing team to offer hands-on experience and advice about looking after someone at home.

It is a rolling programme for Blackpool residents of six sessions over three months. Each session covers different topics, as well as giving practical demonstrations.

If you feel you may benefit from our CARE Group, please call in to Blackpool Carers Centre, or speak to your health care professional.
