CONGRATULATIONS NIGHT RUNNERS

Thank you to everyone who took part in Blackpool Night Run and crossed the finish line! We hope you all had a fantastic time.

After the success of our very first Night Run, we can confirm that we will be back in 2020! Please keep checking social media and our website for details which will be released in due course.

In the meantime, it’s time to collect in all your sponsorship money or if you would like, make a donation using the link across.

From everyone at Brian House, thank you for your support and well done.

This brand new, exciting event will take for 2019 is the perfect opportunity to have a sneak peek before the official switch-on.

We want to make sure everyone across the Fylde coast knows about our incredible dedicated children’s hospice, Brian House, which supports children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. By taking part in Blackpool Night Run, you’ll be helping us shout about our work by wearing the Brian House colours as you dash under the Blackpool Illuminations.

If you’re taking part in Night Run, there are a few important details you need to know ahead of the event:

  • There will be NO bag storage facilities. Please be prepared to run with any items you bring.
  • If you are driving to the event, be aware that car parking is limited. We advise that you get a lift, car share or use public transport (the tram in particular stops close to the Tower Festival Headland).
  • Safety is really important to us! We therefore ask that everyone runs on the left during the event. Please also note that the trams will still be running throughout.
  • If you’re collecting your t-shirt on the night, you MUST present your voucher.

The route

As the night draws in and the Illuminations fire up for their preview, you’ll gather on the Tower Festival Headland, opposite Blackpool Tower.

When the horn sounds at 8.30pm, you’ll set off north along a traffic-free promenade, running to the turning point at Red Bank Road and heading back down to the finish line outside the Tower, making sure you take in the splendour of the Illuminations as you do.

The route is fully marshalled, includes a water stations at the finish line and has First Aid available for your safety.

Your entry pack includes:

  • Specially-designed Night Run t-shirt
  • Race number and information pack
  • Bespoke finishers medal

How your support helps

Brian House is a charity – and the only specialist children’s hospice for children and teenagers with life-limiting conditions in Blackpool and on the Fylde coast. We give each child we meet the chance to live a full, magical life – however short that life might be. We help families share lovely moments together, safe and comfortable in the hands of our expert nurses. We allow children to get creative in our craft area, explore lights and sounds in our multi-sensory room and just to play, as all children should.

As we receive just a fraction of our running costs from the government, we rely on voluntary donations to keep our doors open. By collecting sponsorship for taking part in this event, or making a donation as you enter for free, you are helping us to continue to provide this much needed care.

If each person raises just £30 in sponsorship, together you can help us reach an amazing £180,000. That’s nearly two months care at Brian House for the most fragile children on the Fylde coast. Alternatively, you can donate your £30 here.
