Travel Village Take Part in 2.6 Challenge for Trinity

Travel Village Group is backing Trinity Hospice’s emergency appeal by getting staff and sector colleagues to take part in the 2.6 Challenge.

Owner Phil, his wife Paula and daughter Jessica Nuttall, have been sharing online updates and Facebook posts with staff and contacts during the Covid-19 lockdown and have pledged to add £62 to every £260 raised.

Trinity’s Corporate Partnerships Manager Janet Atkins was part of one video update and explained the huge challenges the hospice is facing as it steps up to help tackle the coronavirus crisis on the Fylde Coast.

Travel Village are long-standing hospice supporters. They finished runners-up in last year’s £50 Challenge, raising a massive £5,477.52 for the hospice. Sadly, this year’s Challenge has been cancelled – along with most of the hospice’s mass participation events planned for spring and summer.

Phil, Paula and Jessica want to help people understand the challenges faced by the hospice, which continues to care for end of life patients across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre whilst also increasing its bed capacity to free up hospital beds for the local NHS.

Janet said: “We really appreciate what Travel Village are doing for us during these uncertain times. To involve us in one of their broadcasts was really helpful and already they have raised over £500 through the 2.6 challenge.

“Business on the Fylde Coast is facing a really tough time – perhaps none more than those in the travel sector – yet they turn their attention and enthusiasm to us. A massive thank you to Travel Village from everyone at Trinity.”
