Record number of businesses raise over £50,000
A record number of businesses in Lancashire have raised £53,376.77 for Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice, as part of our £50 Challenge.
37 teams from a number of different businesses and organisations were given a starter fund of £50, with the aim to grow this amount and turn it into as much money as possible, all within a four month period.
Teams varied from local businesses, community teams, and individuals from across Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre. This year, the charity saw more sign ups than ever before, and raised a magnificent £53,376.77 from just a £50 starter fund for Trinity Hospice & Brian House Children’s Hospice.
The challenge promotes healthy competition between organisations and a winner is awarded a certificate to recognise their achievements. This year, DWP Ryscar House & Warbreck House raised a considerable £8,276.38 through a variety of fundraising events since May this year.
Over the past six years, the £50 Challenge has raised over £200,000.00 – and won’t be stopping any time soon.
Corporate Partnership Manager, Janet Atkins, said: “Thank you to everyone that took part in this year’s £50 Challenge. It was brilliant to see so many organisations get involved.
“We’re already looking forward to 2020 – this time, we’re hoping to break even more records, with 50 teams taking part.
