We were able to surprise one of our Day Therapy Unit patients with an extra special message from a fellow ballroom fan.
When Irene Cooney told us she was a really keen ballroom dancer when she was young (her mum always knew she’d find her in the ballroom – it was her second home!) and in particular she was a huge Anton du Beke fan, we knew we’d pull out all the stops trying to get a special message from him.
And a couple of weeks later, when Irene returned from the Christmas break, we were able to show him something special from the man himself!
Irene said: “When I first saw the message I just could not believe it was him. I had to watch it again!
“The staff said they had a nice message for me, but I never thought it would be something like this. How lovely of Anton to do it and how kind of everyone at Trinity – I really have never experienced such kindness until coming here. It has made such a difference to me.”
It was just lovely to see Irene’s eyes light up when she talked about ballroom dancing, and to see her face as she watched Anton’s message was just magical.
Thank you so much to Anton and his team at IWILLKNOWSOMEONE for making Irene’s dream come true.
