Volunteer Patient Driver
Objective:
To support the various services by transporting patients to and from their homes to Trinity Hospice.
Main duties:
- Collect patient from their home and bring to the Hospice and/or take them home.
- Transport patient to and from Trinity Hospice Out-Patient Services for their appointment.
General responsibilities:
- To ensure the confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with Hospice policy.
- To comply with all Hospice Policies and Procedures.
- To act always in a manner which will promote a good image of the Hospice.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
- Use of own vehicle is essential and volunteers each receive a mileage allowance to cover expenses.
- Must have held a driving licence for a minimum of two years and meet our policy requirements prior to commencement.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Be empathetic and caring.
- Be in good physical health.

Commitment needed:
- Availability on an “as and when” basis between 8.30am-5.30pm.
- Appointments are usually for 1 hour, Living Well appointments can be up to 2 hours.
- Ability to be flexible.
