Volunteer Stories

Whichever part of the Hospice you are in, every day of the year, you’ll meet a volunteer. Our volunteers are involved in almost every aspect of life at Trinity and they help to create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, which can dispel some of the myths about hospices and palliative care.

However, volunteering doesn’t only mean helping here at the Hospice - you can also volunteer out in the community, such as being a Hospice Neighbour, or perhaps in one of Trinity’s retail shops around Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. Or what about marshalling at our fantastic fun-filled fundraising events?

Tracy’s story

Volunteering, so good for you and others too …. As we mark National Volunteers Week (1-7 June) I’ve been reflecting on my own volunteering journey, […]

Amanda’s story

Amanda is manager of our shop on Central Drive, but volunteers her time to help at our events. I’ve been volunteering at Trinity’s events for […]

Barbara and Frank

Volunteering is a two-way thing. We help Trinity and this in turn gives us such pleasure and a reason in life.

Bernard’s Story

I get a lot of satisfaction from being a volunteer driver for Trinity.

Cath’s Story

Volunteering gives me a chance to make a difference for someone in my local community and I get a great sense of achievement knowing I can make someone’s day.

Crissi’s Story

Many people have the wrong impression of a hospice, believing it is a place of sadness and despair. It is a place of support, safety and calm. Friendships are made, solidarity abounds; we help and hold each other up when it’s needed. I loved working with the Trinity team.

Phyll’s Story

The gardens are used by all as place of peace and renewal. Tea, sunhats and conversation are good medicine.

Renee’s Story

I would encourage anyone interested in volunteering here at Trinity to ‘go for it’. I find my role exceptionally rewarding and I will continue to volunteer for as long as I possibly can

Valda’s Story

I feel it is a huge privilege being a volunteer for Trinity Hospice

Veronica’s Story

I give my time and commitment to Trinity but I feel I get so much more out of volunteering than I give. It is hugely rewarding.
