Join Our Team as a Counsellor at Trinity Hospice
Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? Trinity Hospice is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counsellor to join our supportive team at the Linden Centre. This is a unique opportunity to provide vital support and therapy to clients and Trinity patients, both pre- and post-bereavement, and to contribute to the ongoing development of our counselling service.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver individual and group therapy tailored to the diverse needs of our clients.
- Manage your own caseload, exercising professional autonomy and judgement.
- Assist in assessing the needs of adults (and children, if required) referred to the service.
- Uphold the highest ethical and legal standards, ensuring client confidentiality at all times.
- Conduct risk assessments and make appropriate referrals to specialist services when needed.
- Actively participate in clinical supervision, training, and development activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and external partners to ensure holistic support for clients.
- Promote quality and participate in clinical governance activities within Trinity Hospice.
- Demonstrate a commitment to self-care and personal professional development.
What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified counsellor with experience in providing therapy to adults (experience with children is a plus, but not essential).
- Someone who is proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A professional who values continuous learning and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of practice.
- An empathetic individual who understands the importance of self-care in a demanding role.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends as the service evolves.
