Trinity takes the Gold
Great news – Trinity Hospice has been awarded the coveted Investors in People Gold standard, joining the top 13% of accredited organisations across the UK. We set ourselves a challenging target to achieve Silver level in December 2015, followed by 12 months of hard work towards the ambitious Gold standard.
The hospice was assessed in early December, when IiP representatives interviewed a broad cross section of staff from right across the organisation, and looked at documents, processes and procedures, along with external audits and staff survey results. The purpose of this was for the assessor to identify evidence that Trinity consistently met the standards and criteria required.
News of the Gold award was announced to hospice staff and volunteers this week and Chief Executive David Houston said: “The IiP Gold accreditation is a tremendous achievement, especially following on so quickly from our ‘Outstanding’ Care Quality Commission inspection a couple of months ago. I personally feel proud to work for an organisation with colleagues who have such high standards and work tirelessly to make things even better.”
Investors in People is the UK’s leading accreditation for business improvement through people management, and provides resources for businesses to innovate, improve and grow, with a focus on good people making great business.
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Trinity on their Gold standard. Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management practice, demonstrates a commitment to staff development and shows an organisation committed to being the very best it can be. Trinity Hospice should be extremely proud of the achievement.”
