Ten Hospices Unite for Yorkshire 3 Peaks Mega Event
Ten hospices across Lancashire and South Cumbria are joining forces to bring communities an unforgettable challenge – the Yorkshire Three Peaks Mega Event is taking place on Saturday 5th September 2026.
This exciting collaboration will see East Lancashire Hospice, Pendleside Hospice, Derian House Children’s Hospice, St Mary’s Hospice, Trinity and Brian House Hospice, Queenscourt Hospice, St Catherine’s Hospice, St John’s Hospice, and Rossendale Hospice unite with one shared goal: to raise vital funds for hospice care in their local communities.
Participants will tackle the iconic Yorkshire Three Peaks – Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough – in a single day, covering 24 miles and 5,200 feet of ascent. It’s a challenge that promises breath taking views and the chance to make a real difference.

Each hospice is offering an exclusive £30 early bird discount for the first 30 people who register with their local hospice. After that, the price will increase to £45 and includes participants also raising individual sponsorship to maximise the funds raised for their chosen hospice.
Sponsoring the collaborative event is SPAR through its association with James Hall & Co. Ltd, SPAR’s primary retailer, wholesaler, and distributor for the North of England. The company’s support will play a vital role in ensuring that more funds can go directly towards caring for local patients and families.
Philippa Harrington, Marketing Manager for James Hall & Co. Ltd, said: “Hospices provide such a wonderful service to the communities that they serve. We want to support that work and ensure people living in Lancashire and South Cumbria can continue to access that expert care when needed.
“SPAR has a really strong brand presence across the region that the collective covers, often with SPAR stores just around the corner from the hospices. The community connection between us is already there so sponsoring such an iconic fundraising and awareness event for the collaborative is a great opportunity.”
This initiative was inspired by the hospices’ partnership as charity beneficiaries of the Lancashire Business View Red Rose Awards 2025. Rather than splitting the overall amount and each hospice receiving a £500 donation, the hospices decided to create a bigger impact by launching this collaborative event, aiming to raise £60,000 to support patients and families across the region.
“This event is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when hospices work together. By uniting for the Yorkshire Three Peaks Mega Event, we’re not only offering an incredible challenge for our supporters, but we’re also ensuring that more funds go directly to providing compassionate care for local people when they need it most,” said Howerd Booth, spokesperson for the hospice collaboration.
Linzi Warburton, Head of Fundraising at Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice, said: “We’re delighted to be joining forces with our hospice colleagues across Lancashire and South Cumbria to put on this exciting challenge, which not only allows our supporters to raise vital funds for hospice care across the Fylde coast, but also to bang the drum about the importance of local hospice care in all communities.
“Hospices like ours aren’t receiving the funding they deserve, and so we’re only able to provide our care because of those who choose to support us. Our hospice collaborative allows us to unite to lobby for fairer funding, and everyone joining us for this mega event will show the passion and commitment people have for their local hospice.
“We’re excited for this year’s event and can’t wait to support the incredible people who are taking on this challenge with their fundraising, as everything they raise will make a difference to our hospice and the patients we are privileged to care for.”
