Nice to see you!
It has been a busy few days at the Hospice as a stream of special visitors called in to help make the atmosphere really festive.
Cast members from the Grand Theatre’s Sleeping Beauty pantomime raised the roof with renditions of Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer in our Day Unit. They also spent time meeting people on our adult In-patient Unit and in Brian House.
‘Good fairy’ Hayley Kay – a regular visitor to Trinity – brought along her co-stars Jennifer Ellison, Steve Royle, Lewis Bradley and Nick Wilton.
Earlier in the day children from the Willows School had been at Brian House, bringing some festive entertainment of their own.
Last week it was lovely to welcome members of both the Blackpool FC and Fleetwood Town FC squads. The players met some of the youngsters in Brian House and staff and patients in our Day Therapy Unit.
The choir from AKS school Lytham came along and entertained patients, volunteers and staff members with carols and Christmas songs. It was a lovely concert and much appreciated by everyone.
Supporters from across the Fylde coast gathered in our gardens on Sunday for the annual Light up a Life service and switching on of our Christmas trees, which are covered in lights dedicated to loved ones. With readings, carols and the accompaniment of the silver band, it was a memorable occasion – despite the blustery weather!
Our Christmas tree in main Reception is now decked in hundreds of stars, each one bearing a personal message. Come in and take a look if you can in the days leading up to Christmas.
A huge thank you to everyone who has brought in cards and gifts for staff, volunteers and patients – they are very much appreciated.
