New St Annes Charity Shop

We are delighted to announce the opening of our new St Annes charity shop.

Lucky for some!

Trinity Hospice has opened its 13th fundraising shop – and lucky St Annes shoppers were there to bag a bargain! The shop, in a prime position in The Square, was officially opened by our President Jimmy Armfield CBE.

He said he was delighted to be in St Annes, and asked the people of the town to support Trinity’s latest fund raising venture.

David Houston, Trinity’s Chief Executive, said that the St Annes shop would help provide a valuable new source of revenue.  “These are tough economic times”, he said, “and the St Annes shop will help us raise funds which go directly towards caring for people from all across the Fylde coast.

“Several supporters had asked us why we had never had a presence in the town before. It was a case of waiting for the right opportunity, and we are thrilled to be here.”

Laura Brennan is St Annes shop manager and is carrying on a family tradition; her mum Eileen works at Brian House and for many years and Laura has been involved in our fundraising events.

She was being helped on opening day by volunteers Sandra Madden, Emma Lloyd and Claire Hickinbottom. Sandra said: “I have been waiting for the right volunteering opportunity to come along, and I’m really pleased to be part of the Trinity shops network.”

Grace Kelly, Trinity’s Area Retail Manager, was on hand to ensure that everything ran smoothly on launch day and early on was adding the finishing touches, assisted by one of our most experienced volunteers, Valda Trembles.

Jane Molyneux, Director of Fundraising, said the opening of the St Annes shop was an important step forward in raising Trinity’s profile in South Fylde. She said: “This has been long awaited and will provide a very important boost to our fundraising efforts.  Getting everything ready was a fantastic team effort and the shop looks great. I would encourage everything to go down and take a look.”

Can you spare a few hours a week? Anyone interested in helping at the shop should contact Trinity’s Voluntary Services Manager Diane Stonier on 01253 359374.
