Looks like Rein, deer…
A huge thank you to the thousands of local schoolchildren who during December will be completing a Reindeer Run for Brian House.
Starting this week, Reindeer Runs are scheduled for 27 schools across the Fylde Coast, with a quite amazing 7,667 youngsters proudly putting on their antlers and taking part. The Reindeer Run has grown year on year and last time raised just over £10,000 for the hospice. The hope is that this time – with so many children and staff signed up – the total will be nearer £15,000.
Lisa Martin, Trinity’s Community Fundraiser said: “Antlers at the ready!
“The Reindeer Runs are tremendous fun, but also a very important way to let local children know about Brian House and the work it does.
“Schools from Blackpool, Fleetwood, South Fylde and Garstang have signed up – just about every part of the coast is represented.
“I have been into some of the schools in recent weeks to explain at morning assembly what a children’s hospice is for and why it is so important to local families.
“We hope that some of the Reindeer Run participants will be able to visit us in the New Year to see for themselves how their money helps.”
