Let’s talk about it!
Trinity Hospice is supporting Dying Matters Week in May when representatives from all over the Fylde Coast will be part of the area’s biggest ever educational event on end of life planning and care. Organised as part of national Dying Matters Week, the event at the de Vere hotel, Blackpool, will be held on Wednesday May 15.
It has been arranged by the Fylde Coast End of Life Awareness Group, which draws its members from Fylde and Wyre CCG, the local NHS, Trinity Hospice, Macmillan and others. The aim is to get the community thinking and talking about planning for end of life and telling loved ones what their wishes are. Topics include making a will, funeral plans and organ donation. Speakers will give their own personal – and sometimes very moving – stories.
Delegates will come from all over Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre, including representatives from charities, local councillors, nursing home staff , churches, schools and patient participation groups. Places at the event must be booked in advance, but if you would like more details email karen.newman@trinityhospice.co.uk.
As part of Dying Matters Week, Trinity Hospice has organised a drop-in session at its Red Bank Road charity shop in Bispham on Saturday May 18. If you want information about Dying Matters and the practical steps you can take to plan ahead, just call in anytime between 11am and 3pm.
