Festival thank you
Lytham Festival promoters Cuffe and Taylor have handed over £10,000 to Trinity which, added to the donations collected by hospice volunteers from revellers on Lytham Green, makes a grand total of £21,622 from the August music, comedy and literary event.
The money will be used to help fund our pilot Hospice at Home service, which gives families across the Fylde Coast nursing support in their homes throughout the night.
The Lytham Festival was Trinity’s biggest ever mobilisation of volunteers. Over the entire week a band of 176 volunteers worked an incredible 1,850 hours, across 321 shifts at 18 events – not just on the Green but also at Lowther Pavilion, the Assembly Rooms, Park View and in ticket booths and car parks.
“Without their support this partnership wouldn’t have been possible” says Linzi Young, Trinity’s Head of Fundraising. “They were incredible and although some aspects of their role were really hard work, they approached every shift with tremendous enthusiasm and were marvellous ambassadors for Trinity.”
It’s not the first time that Cuffe and Taylor have helped the hospice – the promoters gave a huge £25,000 to the Hospice Heroes Appeal to help pay for our refurbishment.
Director Peter Taylor said: “The staff and volunteers at both Trinity and Brian House work tirelessly to help those in need. They do a remarkable job and if we, by donating some money, can help them continue their vital work then that is great.
“So many people rely on the hard work of the hospice and its wonderful staff. They make such a difference.”
