Everything stops for tea – no matter where you are!
Trinity Patron Alfie Boe has once again given his support to the Trinity Tea Parties – and his fans are planning to make them a global affair.
In a recent interview by Jane Ireland, which was used on the official ‘Thoughts of just a fan’ blog and then published on the Huffington Post, he asked everyone to put the kettle on for the hospice.
Last year’s tea parties raised an astonishing £18,400, and Trinity is hoping to beat that as part of the 30th birthday celebrations. As well as dozens of Trinity Tea parties held across the Fylde Coast, Alfie fans in the US, central Europe and Africa staged their own – and there was at least one ‘virtual tea party’ across time zones.
In the interview, Alfie, who sang at the FA Cup Final last week, urged his fans to get involved to ‘support this wonderful charity and enjoy yourselves’.
So what are you waiting for? Tea Party packs are now available from the hospice, complete with invitations, bunting and even little flags for cup cakes – everything you need to host a perfect teatime fundraiser.
Linzi Young, Head of Fundraising for Trinity said: “We couldn’t believe that the Tea Parties had made the Huffington Post. It’s a huge audience which we would not reach without Alfie Boe’s support and we really appreciate the mention.
“The arrival of summer means it is perfect tea party weather here, and the fundraising packs have been in big demand.”
