Corporate Challenge celebrations
They did it! Eighteen businesses from across the Fylde Coast took part in the Trinity Hospice annual Corporate Challenge. Each was given £50 with the challenge to turn that money into the highest amount possible – and together they raised an astonishing £48,000!
The winner of the Corporate Challenge was announced at a celebration lunch held at the White Tower restaurant, Blackpool, on Friday.
NST Travel raised an amazing £6,286 and took first place, with the runner-up Wareings Buildings raising a huge £5,772.
There were some inspiring events – from sports days to pub quizzes and from writing cookery books to completing a parachute jump.
A team of nurses from Brian House even got together with Dan Whiston to organise a four hour sponsored Zumbathon at Blackpool Tower.
Radio Wave’s Hayley Kay was our compere for the lunch and Chief Executive David Houston presented certificates to all the teams.
Natalie Bromley, Trinity’s Corporate Fundraiser and organiser of the Corporate Challenge said: ‘We were really blown away by the enthusiasm, commitment and sheer determination of all the challengers. We can’t thank the companies and staff enough, they have made such a difference. It’s amazing how they raised such a huge amount on top of their daily work commitments and in such a short time.’
An anonymous sponsor kindly gave the ‘starter’ £50 notes which kicked off the challenge back in the summer, and also covered the cost of the celebration lunch, which was attended by 70 people.
It’s the second time Trinity has run the Corporate Challenge – and this year’s total is even higher than last year, making a massive difference to the local people who rely on Trinity for hospice care.
