Charity partner at Lytham Festival
Trinity Hospice is once again official partner charity for the week-long Lytham Festival. The fun starts on Monday August 1st and our teams of fundraisers and volunteers will be out in force at every event.
We are really proud to once again be part of the Festival, which not only raises money for us but also helps raise our profile across the Fylde coast and beyond. With thousands of visitors expected, it’s a great way for us to demonstrate that Trinity is much more than a set of buildings: the hospice is at the heart of the local community, touching thousands of local lives every year.
We have around 150 volunteers – many of them also helped last year – and they are taking on a variety of roles, from ticketing and car parking to the all-important ‘green team’, who make sure that no litter is left behind after each of the arena events.
It’s a massive responsibility – but also a lot of fun! If you are attending a Festival event and see one of our volunteers in their distinctive green t-shirts, please stop and say hello. They will be working hard and will really appreciate your support.
Linzi Young, Head of Fundraising for Trinity said: “It seems to have come around so quickly – we have some amazing memories of last year’s Festival and hope that 2016 will be just as good. Our volunteers are real heroes – it’s not a glamorous job cleaning up litter at midnight, but the sense of team spirit is inspiring.”
Festival organisers Cuffe and Taylor have introduced a new ‘big screen’ cinema night to kick-start events on Lytham Green and have generously donated tickets to allow many of our children and families from Brian House Children’s Hospice to attend what should be a mind-blowing showing of the latest Star Wars film.
Everyone is really looking forward to it – a huge thank you on behalf of Brian House!
