Celebration time
The first ever Trinity Hospice Corporate Challenge has been amazing: teams were each given a £50 starter fund and had just 12 weeks to turn it into much more.
The result was incredible: £45,000 raised for the Hospice!!
There was a celebration lunch at The Villa, Wrea Green, to say thank you to all the participants and to mark their achievements.
Overall winners were Newton Hall Caravan Park who raised well over £6,000. They are part of the Partingtons Group, who had four teams competing and between them raised an incredible £17,000!
Inenco St Annes were runners up. They had two teams competing and really threw themselves into the event with enthusiasm.
At the lunch there were lots of ‘fun’ prizes handed out – certificates for the best community involvement event, most stylish event and even the tastiest event.
There were 21 teams in all, from right across the Fylde Coast, including a team of nurses from Brian House Children’s Hospice, who entered to show just how much the hospice means to them.
A team from Blackpool Coastal Housing held 14 separate fundraising events during the 12 week period. Some teams organised raffles and auctions, others took on tough challenges and sponsored events.
Trinity’s Chief Executive David Houston thanked everyone for taking part and making such a massive difference.
He said: “We really hope that the Corporate Challenge will be held again, and that the companies who have taken part this time will continue to support us. It has been truly amazing.”
Trinity’s Natalie Bromley organised the Corporate Challenge and said: “When we started this new fundraising venture, we didn’t imagine it would generate so much enthusiasm and so much money.
“A generous sponsor provided the £50 starter funds, which means that every pound raised comes to the Hospice, to help pay for patient care.
“It has been a real pleasure to work alongside the competing teams, to have them visit the Hospice to see how the money will be spent, and to attend some of their events.
“Literally hundreds of people have been involved in some way, and we are grateful to each and every one.”
