Location: Trinity Hospice, Low Moor Road, Bispham, FY2 0BG

Objective:

• Offer attendees hot drinks and manage all catering requirements as and when food is offered.
• Meet hydration and comfort needs.
• Be a key member of the Dementia Lounge catering team, working closely with another long-standing volunteer.

 

Tasks:

• This is a very busy and active role.
• Responsibilities include carrying and refilling large flasks of boiling water, cleaning up, managing the dishwasher, and refilling tea, coffee, milk, and food as required.
• You will also be clearing away and reoffering drinks during the 3-hour sessions.

 

Requirements:

• This role requires agility and activity due to lifting.
• You will be on your feet for around 3 hours, setting up stations, collecting cups and empties, and filling the dishwasher.
• Excellent conversational skills are needed to support carers and those living well with dementia.
• Attend volunteers’ meetings when required, usually quarterly.
• Experience in supporting those living well with dementia is essential.
