Volunteer Patient Driver

Location: Trinity Hospice, Low Moor Road, Bispham, FY2 0BG

Objective:

To support the various services by transporting patients to and from their homes to Trinity Hospice.

 

Main duties:

· Collect patient from their home and bring to the Hospice and/or take them home.

· Transport patient to and from Trinity Hospice Out-Patient Services for their appointment.

 

General responsibilities:

· To ensure the confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with Hospice policy.

· To comply with all Hospice Policies and Procedures.

· To act always in a manner which will promote a good image of the Hospice.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

· Use of own vehicle is essential and volunteers each receive a mileage allowance to cover expenses.

· Must have held a driving licence for a minimum of two years and meet our policy requirements prior to commencement.

· Good communication skills.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality.

· Be empathetic and caring.

· Be in good physical health.

Commitment needed:

· Availability on an “as and when” basis between 8.30am-5.30pm.

· Appointments are usually for 1 hour, Living Well appointments can be up to 2 hours.
