Go back to the 80s
Come on ladies: it’s time to go back to the 80s.
Trinity’s illumathon – the annual fundraising girl-fest along Blackpool Promenade – has now officially launched and as usual will be a great excuse to party.
Because we are celebrating our 30th anniversary, we decided to use the 80s as our theme this year, which means you should dig out your leg warmers, shoulder pads, hair crimpers and ra-ra skirts (but best stick to comfy shoes).
The date is Saturday August 29th and the walk will be a sneak preview of the Illuminations, which don’t officially switch on until the following weekend. Start time is 10.30pm from Sainsbury’s Red Bank Road, Bispham, and either five or ten mile routes are available.
There is music and dancing at the start, and a welcome hot drink and snack at the end. Instead of medals this time, we have a charm bracelet for every finisher, and it has a cute 80s theme too.
Sign up now online or call into our Fundraising office. Your entry fee includes a t-shirt and walker bag as well, making it just about the best value girls’ night out to be had on the Fylde Coast.
Money raised at Illumathon pays for patient care here at Trinity. The event is also a wonderful opportunity to remember someone special; every year we have walkers taking part as a tribute to someone they love, or as a way of saying thank you for the care they received at Trinity.
Come and join us for a bit of 80s nostalgia – it’s going to be a great night!
