What a night!
Tutus, tiaras, feather boas, glittery leg warmers……hot tea and bacon butties.
The essential ingredients for a great illumathon; and what an event it was, with 950 ladies walking the lights in aid of Trinity and Brian House.
On behalf of everyone here at the hospice, thank you to every walker, to everyone who helped behind the scenes and to those who helped marshal the event and keep us all safe.
It was a night of huge fun and high emotion. There were groups of friends and work colleagues walking together, and families walking in memory of loved ones who had been cared for at Trinity.
There were walkers in their 70s and several under tens, who coped admirably with the chilly and blustery weather conditions at 3am. There were pet dogs in flashing collars, there was our Mascot Hospuss on the Comedy Carpet and as a backdrop there was Blackpool Tower, shining Trinity green to encourage us all.
Hayley Kay got everyone in the party mood, the Kylie tribute act got us dancing, Linda Nolan spoke movingly about how Trinity had cared for her sister and there was a minute’s applause as a celebration of life before the off.
