Trinity is Lytham Festival charity partner
Lytham Festival has confirmed that Trinity Hospice will be the event’s official charity partner in 2015. It’s fantastic news for Trinity as the ‘Proms’ at Lytham has become one of the best known outdoor concert events in the region.
Festival organisers Cuffe and Taylor will support the hospice – and specifically the continuation of our pilot Hospice at Home service – via an initial donation, followed by sponsorship and fundraising activity that will take place throughout 2015’s event.
In its first three months, Hospice at Home has made hundreds of calls and visits, giving local families the support they need throughout the night. It is currently funded as a two year pilot thanks to the backing of the Blackpool and Fylde and Wyre Clinical Commissioning Groups, who have shown tremendous commitment to the launch of the service; but pressures on spending across the health sector are acute and money raised by Lytham Festival will help Trinity plan for the future service with more confidence.
Festival Director Peter Taylor said: “It will be fantastic to harness the energy of Lytham Festival 2015 and to channel that into the local community, specifically Trinity Hospice. Our event will be a vibrant and celebratory affair so to be able to pass that positivity on to Trinity Hospice is very important to us.”
David Houston, Trinity Chief Executive said: “To be chosen as the charity partner for the Lytham Festival is a huge honour. Trinity celebrates its 30th birthday in 2015, which makes this partnership with Cuffe and Taylor even more significant and we are enormously grateful for this support.
“As a local charity we face huge pressures on funding as we strive to provide the highest standards of compassionate care for all those who need it across the Fylde Coast. We touch the lives of around 8,000 local people every year and take pride in being at the heart of the local community. What better way to mark our 30th birthday than to be a part of the Lytham Festival, which really flies the flag for the Fylde Coast.
“Cuffe and Taylor gave us a staggering £25,000 last year as a result of the Rod Stewart concert in Blackpool, and this partnership means that once again they will make a big difference to our work. There is a tremendous feeling of excitement here, which I know will grow as the Festival approaches, and on behalf of everyone connected with Trinity I want to say a huge thank you. ”
The re-branded Lytham Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever, with several new events added to the schedule, including open air cinema. Volunteers from Trinity will play a huge part in the Festival, supporting the Cuffe and Taylor team throughout.
