Record breaking Santa Dash
Over 1,000 super Santas turned the Prom bright red in our biggest ever Santa Dash.
A massive thank you to everyone who made the event such an amazing success and made the start of the festive season such a memorable one.
There were family groups, work colleagues, student organisations, schoolchildren, and pet dogs of all shapes and sizes.
Trinty supporters Brian Rose, Linda Nolan and Hayley Kay all wore red suits and did us proud.
And youngsters were delighted that the ‘real’ man in the red suit also came along to witness the start.
Many people were taking part in memory of someone who had been cared for at Trinity. Many Trinity staff members took part or acted as marshals, along with our trusty volunteers, who turned out in force.
This year’s Santa Dash was part of the Gazette’s Hospice Heroes appeal to raise an additional £200,000 towards refurbishments in Trinity Hospice and Brian House.
Linzi Young, Trinity’s Fundraising manager said: “The partnership with the Gazette has definitely helped us to our biggest ever Santa Dash, and it’s a huge boost for the Appeal. The whole event had such a happy, festive atmosphere, it was a really lovely day and brought so many parts of the community together.
“We had Dashers from all across the Fylde coast and also from many miles away, as people took the opportunity to visit friends and family and take part in Santa Dash at the same time.
“We don’t know yet exactly how much has been raised – but we know it’s going to give the Hospice Heroes Appeal a huge boost. We couldn’t provide our services without the ongoing support of the local community, and to us every single Santa was a hero.”
