Ready for the Zumbathon?
Brian House nurses will be leading a big crowd of ladies (and probably a few men!) in a four hour Zumbathon at Blackpool Tower on Friday October 3.
Calling themselves the Brian House Treasures, they have organised the event to raise money for the Trinity Hospice Corporate Challenge, and our celebrity supporter Dan Whiston will be helping put everyone through some Zumba routines.
Some of the youngsters from Brian House will be going along to cheer on the Treasures, who will be led by Sister Lorraine Cundy and Sister Carol Wylde. Two Brian House team members are hoping to do the entire four hours, the others are promising to do as much as they can, with the team raising sponsorship to help boost their final total.
They have set up a just giving page at www.justgiving.com/BrianHouseZumbathon
Natalie Bromley, Trinity’s Corporate Fundraiser and co ordinator of the annual Corporate Challenge said: “The Treasures are back and really mean business. They took part in Corporate Challenge last year but have really outdone themselves this time, with what should be a spectacular event.
“It promises to be a great night out and there’s no pressure to do the whole four hours. I think the atmosphere will be amazing and everyone at the hospice is looking forward to it.”
The Zumbathon starts at 5pm, with the registration desk open at the Tower from 4pm.
The sessions will feature some of the Fylde Coast’s top Zumba instructors and the Blackpool Ice Twirlers. A minimum £10 donation will buy you a place in the Ballroom and all the money from Corporate Challenge comes to Trinity.
Don’t worry if you are not a fitness fanatic – this is a really informal event that promises to be a lot of fun. See you there!
