In the picture
The wonderful photographic images now decorating the walls of our refurbished In-patient Unit have become real talking points.
Using local views brings our beautiful coastline and landmarks indoors for patients who can no longer get out and about, and the pictures add real vibrancy to the Hospice.
Several are the work of local photographer and Hospice supporter Jason Connolly, but some were chosen in a competition run in conjunction with our Hospice Heroes partner the Gazette.
It was no easy task for our panel of judges to select the winning entries, but after much deliberation images by George Gordon, Ray Wilson, Lilian Marshall and Sam Oxley were chosen and are now on display.
The subjects range from the colourful Santa Dash along the Prom to the lighthouse at Fleetwood against a dramatic sky and Blackpool’s Central Pier at dusk.
Thank you to everyone who entered a photo. There were some spectacular ones and it was lovely to have the involvement of the community in putting the final touches to our refurbishment. The chosen images will give pleasure to patients and visitors for years to come.
