No Santa! You can’t take the tram!
The tram might be the easiest way to get from the Sandcastle to Central Pier, but hundreds of Santas will be walking, running or jogging along Blackpool’s Promenade on Sunday December 2 to raise money for Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice.
The Santa Dash has fast become one of our most popular fundraising events, and hopes are high that this year’s Dash will be a record breaker.
Fundraising manager Linzi Young explained: “The Santa Dash really is an event for all the family and we often have three generations taking part together. There are babies in prams with parents and grandparents.
“The beauty of Santa Dash is that it isn’t a race. You can complete the walk from the Sandcastle to Central Pier and back at any pace you like. We provide the Santa suits too; we just ask people to pay their registration fee and find some sponsors – it really is a great start to the festive season.”
Last year 700 Santas raised £17,000 for Trinity. You can register online, and as well as Santa suits, this year’s Santa Dash pack includes a Santa Sack too, because Trinity is asking participants to bring unwanted clothes and bric a brac to the start point to top up stocks at its 14 retail outlets around the Fylde.
