Got a great photo of the Fylde coast?
We are excited to announce that the Gazette has launched a photography competition for us, asking local people to send in images to help decorate the walls as part of our ambitious refurbishment.
With work progressing well in both Brian House and the adult in-patient unit, a number of photographs have already been chosen and put onto canvas.
Photos can help to enhance the healing environment and are a great way to bring the ‘outside indoors’ as well as being excellent focal points for conversation and reflection.
Anyone can get involved in the competition and submit photographs of Fylde Coast scenes to fill two spaces that remain. We were keen to involve the community and let local people have some input into the way the new-look hospice will be decorated – so this is a great way to do that.
We are asking for photographs of scenes from across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. Sea scapes, parks, famous Fylde monuments, sunsets and sand dunes – it’s your choice. All entries will be judged by a panel that includes local photographer Jason Connolly and the Gazette’s Daniel Martino.
Entries should be sent to photo@trinityhospice.co.uk and accompanied by 100 words explaining the story behind the photo, which will be considered once images have been shortlisted. Photos should be in colour, and should not include any recogniseable faces.
Images need to be high-resolution: at least 12 megapixels in their original form, but re-sized to no more than 3mg before sending on email.
The closing date is the end of February – so get snapping and let us see your work. Two winning photos will be chosen and will be put onto canvas for permanent display in the hospice.
