Submariners from HMS Artful based in Barrow visited Brian House Children’s Hospice to meet staff and children and join in an afternoon of craft activities.

Lisa Martin, Community Fundraiser at Trinity Hospice and Brian House said: “It was a great day. We are very grateful that they gave their time to visit us, see what we do and even get involved with some puppet-making! It was lovely to welcome them to Brian House and hopefully they will be able to offer us ongoing support.”

Trinity Hospice Chief Executive David Houston was presented with Artful’s crest – which features a monkey – and which is now displayed at Brian House.

Artful is one of the Royal Navy’s new generation Astute-class submarines and is currently in-build at Barrow.
