Nurse Barbara Collumbine is leading a staff and volunteer sponsored walk along the Prom – and is taking her horses for part of the trip!

Barbara, who has worked at Trinity for 14 years, has enlisted a team of staff and volunteers to walk the 12 miles from the North Euston Hotel in Fleetwood to Starr Gate on Saturday August 9.

A keen horsewoman, Barbara is taking some four legged friends along for encouragement on part of the journey, and hopes to raise as much money as possible for Trinity. The money raised will go towards the garden area outside the bereavement room, which needs an uplifting touch following the Hospice refurbishment. 

Barbara said: ‘We always ask people outside the Hospice to raise money for us, so this is about Trinity raising money for itself.’

The staff at Trinity have started a contest for people to guess the time the walk will be completed in for a suggested donation of £1 for each guess. Barbara’s estimate is four hours – but why not call in to place your bet?
