Gok’s fashion pledge

Fashion guru Gok Wan has sent a message of support for Trinity Hospice’s Fylde Coast shops.

The television style expert has joined forces with Hospice UK to promote hospice shops up and down the country. Trinity has shops across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre and together they bring in around £300,000 a year to help fund compassionate care for adults and children living locally.

Gok says: “The New Year comes with a pledge from me to support Hospice UK and hospice care this January. This is a great time to throw open the wardrobe and think about what the ‘2016 new you’ wants to wear – and maybe consider if you’ll ever wear that jacket again.

“If you think you’ve got more than you need or will ever wear, then why not bag it up and take it to your local hospice shop? Hospices across the UK care for 360,000 people and their families a year, and most of this is paid for through support from the local community, including donated items sold in their shops.

“There are more than 2,000 hospice shops in the UK and they need your help keeping the rails fully stocked!”

David Houston, Trinity Hospice CEO said: “I know that having Gok’s support means a great deal to Hospice UK and as a member of that group we are thrilled too. Donating to or buying from our shops is a great way to support local hospice care and we are always on the look-out for good quality items to sell. Our shops rely on volunteers to keep the doors open and they make such an important contribution to Trinity and Brian House each year.”

hospice uk logoFreeport at Fleetwood has kindly given Trinity Hospice the use of a unit for the weekend of January 30th, and there will be a ‘pop up’ shop full of bargains and information about Trinity. Radio Lancashire will be broadcasting the Saturday lunchtime show from the shop. Why not call in and say hello?
