Brian House Weekend Support Volunteer

Location: Brian House, Bispham, FY2 0BG

Objective:

  • To support the Brian House staff to provide a variety of stimulating and fun filled activities for the children to enjoy whilst at Brian House.
  • To support the Brian House staff to support the children on trips out.

 

General responsibilities:

  • To support with the setting up of the activities.
  • To support the children by interacting with them and supporting them whilst doing the activities (these could include arts and crafts, reading stories, singing, and dancing, playing with toys, songs and rhymes etc).
  • To support tidying up following each session.
  • To comply with all Hospice Policies and Procedures.
  • To act always in a manner which will promote a good image of the Hospice.
  • To raise and report any concerns to the nurse in charge.

 

Skills:

  • Ideal volunteer will have previous experience of working closely with children with a range of additional needs including medical conditions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Be empathetic and caring.
  • In good physical health.
  • To have a good understanding of general cleaning requirements.

Commitment needed:

  • We are looking for 1 person Saturday 09:00- 12:00 and 1 person Saturday 16:00-19:00…
  • We are looking for 1 person Sunday 09:00- 12:00 and 1 person Sunday 16:00-19:00.
