Trinity Trustees Wanted
Trinity Hospice & Palliative Care Services is a complex organisation. As a reader of our Trinity newsletter, Trinity News, you will know that the charity is made up of many services which we refer to as our ‘family of services’. The Board of Trustees is the collection or group of Trustees that are responsible for the legal running of the charity - complying with the rules. And more... the process of ‘Governance’.
Occasionally vacancies arise for people to take on the role of being a Trustee at Trinity and the Board are looking for two or more new Trustees to join them. We are looking for people (aged over 18) from a cross section of the community we serve. People often ask “What do you need to be a Trustee at Trinity?”. In the main you need to have a passion for the work that we do and our mission in ensuring the people of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre get “Compassionate care on the journey towards the End of Life”. It is also useful if you understand the difference between Management and Governance which is that managers manage and Trustees govern. Trustees can come from all walks of life, contributing their own special skills, knowledge and experiences to the board.
Trustees are volunteers who hold Trinity ‘in trust’ for the community we serve. Whilst they are unpaid and don’t gain any financial benefit they play a fundamental role in the development of Trinity Hospice.
