Spiritual Care
As unique individuals we respond differently when we are ill or caring for someone who is ill. Spirituality is the essence of what it means to be you. It is about:
- How you make sense of the world
- The things that are the most important to you
- What helps to give your life meaning
At Trinity Hospice we care deeply about being a place where you can expect to find good spiritual care. We offer a number of resources to try and support you to do what helps you.
Creativity
Enabling you to listen to music, engage with a hobby, create a memory box or paint a picture. Artwork and music are recognised for their influence in spiritual care.
Dance
The Chapel hosts artwork under the title of “Lord of the Dance”.
“The journey between who you once were, and who you are now becoming, is where the dance of life really takes place” – Barbara De Angelis. Three separate figures of Body, Mind and Spirit now all come together in a splendid dance, a celebration of existence itself and of the journey we are all on.
Listening
All the staff will be willing to spend time with you listening to your story and what is important to you, helping you to feel heard and valued.
Quiet space
Quiet rooms, gardens and other areas are available throughout Trinity to provide space and time for your own reflection.
Chaplaincy
Our Chaplains work alongside all staff to give patients and carers specific spiritual support where requested.
Faith
Local faith communities are welcome to provide support where requested. Resources for prayer and meditation are available and local churches lead a Sunday service.
