Fundraising Intern
Salary: This is a 6 month voluntary role. Travel expenses will be paid

We are looking for a passionate and committed Fundraising Intern to support donor development and fundraising administration at Trinity Hospice, including Brian House Children’s Hospice.
Trinity Hospice and Palliative Care Services provides specialist palliative care to adults and children in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre affected by life limiting or life threatening illnesses. It costs over £6million a year to run our family of services and with limiting funding from the government we need to raise over £4million a year to keep our doors open.
As Fundraising Intern you will support all functions of fundraising at Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice. This role will give you the opportunity to experience each aspect of fundraising and with many varied tasks. We promise that no two days will be the same.
Specific Duties:
Working within a small team of fundraisers the Intern duties will include:
Administration Support
- Liaise with all members of the team to ensure relevant information has been entered accurately into the fundraising database, Donorflex
- Update supporter records with financial, event participation and other relevant information
- Manage mail merges for donor acknowledgment letters
- Support the Fundraising Administrator as and when required
Fundraising Support
- Work with the Fundraising Team to help research and develop new fundraising initiatives
- Support local individuals who wish to take part in sponsored events or organise their own events such as runs, balls and charity nights
- Act as a first point of contact for fundraising enquirers, passing on queries to the most relevant team member
- Support the Community Fundraiser in researching prospect corporate support
- Support the design, development and delivery of new fundraising materials; leaflet, newsletter collection tins, sponsorship forms, gift aid forms, t-shirts, posters, balloons.
Events Support
- Support the Events Co-ordinator with the organisation of fundraising events, including our annual Santa Dash, Light up a Life and hospice fundraising ball
- Source gifts in kind for raffle and auction prizes
- Manage mailings for event invite and updates
- Provide on the day event support
Skills Required
- Good written and spoken communication skills
- A passion for working in fundraising and a local charity
- Good computer skills
- Be able to work on your own initiative and with minimal supervision
- Good team working skills
- Willing to work some unsocial hours, for example attending fundraising events during evenings and weekends
Other Requirements:
- You must be at least 18 years old and be willing to submit a CRB disclosure.
