e-ELCA (e-learning to enhance education and training for end of life care for all)
End of Life Care for All (e-ELCA) is an e-learning project, commissioned by the Department of Health and delivered by e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH) in partnership with the Association for Palliative Medicine of Great Britain and Ireland.
It aims to enhance the training and education of health and social care staff involved end of life care, in order that all staff and volunteers can be well-informed, confident and competent to deliver high quality care in all health and social care settings.
There are over 150 highly interactive sessions of e-learning within e-ELCA. There are four core modules: Advance Care Planning; Assessment; Communications Skills; and Symptom Management, comfort and well being. And with three additional modules: Social care; Bereavement; and Spirituality.
e-ELCA can be accessed by health and social care professionals via the e-Learning for Healthcare (e-lfh) website.
Twelve of the e-ELCA sessions are available free to volunteers, clerical and administrative staff on the open access website.
